I’m using GemBox.Document to convert a PDF document to a Word Document. However, the embedded images (in the header and footer) are being stripped out in the converted file.
Is this expected behaviour?
Yes, this is expected, the current PDF reader has limited usage, it is not designed for high-fidelity tasks.

So in short, we currently don’t have an adequate solution for converting PDF to DOCX, but we plan to provide one in the relatively near future.
